Finals are coming to an end, and summer is almost here. Time to start a reading list again, even though I’ll have summer classes.

These are books…and not so much books, more like grammar texts and whatnot.

1. Anthony Bourdain – A Cook’s Tour
2. Bill Bryson – Neither Here Nor There
3. Understanding Basic Japanese Grammar (reviewing for study abroad)
4. Complete Master Series – JLPT 3-kyuu Grammar Exercises

This is just the start of it, I’ll add more when it seems necessary.

So, if anyone’s been listening to this up and coming rapper, with two mixtapes already out, you know how he is. Good beats, and a pretty good flow is what’s coming from this one.

Gotta love the beats though. I’m a real bass-head though, can’t get enough of the bass rumbling through my headphones, lol.

But yeah, anyone reading this, if you like hip-hop, check this guy out. He’ll be up there in no time.

I don’t know if anyone has seen these short HBO documentaries (it seems like once a week or s0) about kids and their discrimination of others based on what others wear, what social class you are, or how much money you have.

I don’t understand why people need to have expensive things to make people like you, or to be accepted. “Oh, I need this $$$ (insert article of clothing) to be accepted into this clique.” WHO CARES ABOUT THAT. Friends are friends – people who only accept you to be someone after they judge what you wear or how much money you have…NOT YOUR FRIENDS.

For some of these kids, they even disregard how their parents work.

There are some kids that are shown that do have hard times with money, but it still shows they still live, have a life, and don’t care about materialism. Sucks these spoiled children won’t realize that if they ever run out of money, those “friends” may just leave them in the dust.

What’s happening to society? Why are people so judgemental against social class? I remember last week, one girl said that she thinks its better that people are being discriminatory based on social status, rather than color. Lol…too bad they’re blind to see racism is there, plus they’re just adding to the discriminatory pool by discriminating by what you own or what you wear.

At this point, just by watching this…I just don’t want to live on this world anymore. I just want to move into a countryside town or village (preferably outside of the US), and just live a simple life. I just want to live with my art, my music, and some nice books. I’d rather cut myself off from society than deal with this.

Fuck money.

Just a note to myself – don’t forget to buy a book for cocktail mixes. I really wanted to bartend, even before I was legal. I wouldn’t mind being a mixologist in my own apartment. It’s a good excuse to have lots of parties and show off your mixing skills and whatnot.

Oh, and a little review on Crystal Kay’s “Color Change” Album. I’ve liked it so far, especially the first few tracks , my personal favorite being “One.” I like the beats, and everything sounds good. I’d recommend it for anyone who may like j-pop, or anyone just looking for some good beats to listen to, if you can’t understand the lyrics.

Just another addition to taking walks, especially in the morning.

I came to campus early, to get ready for an online conference/class. I took a walk around campus, while no one was around at all – no noise, just the sounds of wind and my footsteps. Stopping on the bridge to look at the water, to find a couple of turtles, and about a dozen fish looking at me for some food. I felt bad I didn’t have any though – but next time, I’ll try to have something for them. Looking up at the trees and watching leaves falling and twirling down. It’s just a nice way to spend your time, thinking, observing, just appreciating what’s around you. All in all, it’s nice.

Should’ve taken pictures though, but camera’s battery is dead after last night’s shuttle launch.

I just discovered how nice walks around sunrise are. Even if it’s just to throw out the trash, the nice weather, the sun just rising and the sky ablaze with oranges, pinks, and blues – it’s really nice. I think I’ll start walking every morning before classes.

It’s about 3:40am, and what am I up to – nothing.
Still haven’t cured myself of my jet lag yet, and by how things are going, I don’t plan to get rid of it anytime soon. I sleep in the day, and I’m awake all night. Is that a bad thing?

I don’t remember the last time I got to hang out with someone for long. I miss socializing, like how I got to hang out with my friends in Japan. Before writing this, what was I doing? Watching shows that are trying to sell me kitchen appliances. I don’t need a refrigerator, or a dishwasher, but is this how I spend my time?

I feel lonely here; physically, emotionally, mentally. I want to be back there in Shin-Urayasu again, taking that nice walk every day, and who knows, run into a few friends, and hang out with a few later in the day.
My only companion that makes time by these days is my DS.

I seem different too, since I’m not so happy where I am now. I feel edgy, maybe a little moody (I think this may also be because of my bad sleeping cycle). No one seems to call or ask, “Hey, let’s hang out!”
What happened to those days, where I went over to Winfield’s house just to hang out? They don’t happen anymore. Well, they do, just…they never tell me. I feel like old news, or just…who knows, pushed aside? This could be me overthinking again, but who knows. It could be right. It depends on how well I can trust my thoughts.

I should write more about my Japan trip. Who knows, people may want to hear about it. I think they would want to see pictures even more though. I look through my pictures, I see my friends in Japan. I miss them. Especially those few I got to hang out with most.

I’m not tired, although I should be. I could spend my time learning Japanese, but of course, the bad study habits (of not studying) flow through me again. I want it to stop, it’s so difficult though. How do you break a habit like this?

I will write more on this subject later, but this is just a reminder for me to write about it. When that happens, this will probably be edited and whatnot.

It is interesting to be a a foreigner in another country. I haven’t really experienced this yet in my life. Where instead of everyone speaking your language, they are all speaking another, and either you have to struggle to communicate, or they struggle trying to communicate to you. I’ll write more later.

Although today was a rainy day in Japan, so much that happened made up for it. Eh, lets just list them out.

1. Going to Ueno Kouen and Ueno Doubutsuen was fun, although rainy. Some of the animals liked or didn’t mind the rain. Camera ran out of batteries, so that was a little…or big shortfall.

2. On a decision to go back to Tokyo station to get some lunch, I run into the best urban artists (IMO) of my time – TADO – Mike and Katie! There were 2 people just standing there by a food stall, and they looked familiar to me. So I figured I should ask, “Hey, are you Mike and Katie?”

After finding that out, I was speechless, and jumping around. It’s like meeting a celebrity! They’re from England, so it’s incredibly coincidental that we met in Japan, since I’m all the way in Orlando. Since I ran out of battery, I couldn’t get a picture of them! IT SUCKS! But still, I at least know I got to meet them!

3. Although they may not be really popular yet, I got to watch a live performance by Aorta! It was pretty cool, and their music sounds good. Gonna have to buy their CD before I leave.

4. Found Hitomi’s cake shop! FINALLY, after asking for directions, I got there, and afterwards, had dinner with her. It’s always a good time with Hitomi~

And that, everyone, is my awesome day. Running into awesome people, and hanging out with awesome friends. That’s all I ask for, is good times on this trip. =)

What’s up everyone? I decided to make this blog shortly after you (the Meikai students) left, so that everyone can be updated about what goes on in Orlando, and what I usually do.
